Master Class with Tomer Heymann
Join us for an intimate master class on documentary filmmaking led by Tomer Heymann, who, together with his brother Barak, has produced poignant documentaries that merge current social and political issues with the deeply personal. Films like Paper Dolls (2006), Bridge Over the Wadi (2006), Lone Samaritan (2009), and The Queen Has No Crown (2011), among others, have garnered awards and screenings at festivals worldwide, including the NYJFF. In this workshop, Tomer will discuss topics including the role of cinema as a social and political tool, directing without a script, choosing a “hero,” and establishing trust among characters. The brothers’ current films, Mr. Gaga and Who’s Gonna Love Me Now?, are screening in this festival.
Free and open to the public.
